Description
Alpine now has a broad portfolio of retrofit sets for Apple CarPlay in various price ranges. At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the company presented the next generation in the higher-priced segment, the Alpine ILX-F309. The main focus of this product is the particularly large display with a diagonal of 9 inches. That alone would not be anything special, as there are enough of these sizes on the market. However, these only fit selected car models; Alpine, on the other hand, has made it its mission to make the set compatible with all older vehicles, including those that actually have no space on the dashboard for this size.
A “floating” screen – The problem was solved by an electronic extension system that allows the display to move a few centimeters forward so as not to conflict with other areas of the cockpit front. Alpine ILX-F309 can also be tilted at a variety of angles and adjusted in height and depth by several centimeters in order to be as precise as possible on the corresponding driver’s cab of a car.

The Alpine ILX-F309 is also compatible with the competing system Android Auto, has radio reception, and serves as a display for rear-view cameras, if available. A USB port allows memory sticks to be connected, which can be used to play audio files in FLAC, MP3, WMA, and AAC formats.
