Description

Ricoh is expanding its range with A3 color laser printers designed for high print volumes in the network. With a monthly print volume of up to 50,000 pages, the devices are absolutely suitable for use in medium to large workgroups. Depending on the model, the printing speed is 45 or 55 pages per minute, regardless of whether printing is in color or black and white. The paper management can of course be adapted to this print volume. The Ricoh SP C831DN printer, which is factory-equipped with a magazine for 550 sheets and a manual feed of 200 sheets, can be upgraded to a total of 4,400 sheets with 4 additional paper magazines. The 4,000-sheet paper output is standard but can be upgraded with options such as the 3000-sheet finisher with optional stapling and hole-punching functions, the 2000-sheet booklet finisher, or a mailbox with four compartments. Some options can save not only time but also costs that are incurred through external processing.

With the Ricoh SP C831DN model, the company also attaches great importance to sustainability. This is evident from features like duplex printing, sleep mode, and automatic on/off timer. In addition, the devices have a so-called ECO Night Sensor, which switches off the power supply as soon as the light intensity in the room falls below a certain level. In addition, the printer work with a new fusing technology in which induction heating processes the special toner at very low temperatures. The fuser roller reaches the required working temperature in a significantly shorter time than a fuser belt, which saves not only energy but also time. The warm-up time is just 29/25 seconds. This can also be seen in the waiting time until the first print. The first printed color page is available after only 5.7 / 5.1 seconds, the first black and white page after 3.7 / 3.4 seconds.
